Knitted Fashion is Coming Back

Are knitted clothing making a come-back?  You be the judge.  Knitting is not just for hats and mittens anymore, which it was traditionally used for from the 1980's.  You can find pants, leggings, dresses, blouses, and fashionable bags (yes, bags, well the one posted is part fabric and part knit, but it's lovely!).

According to an article called "A History of Knitting" by Amber Allen, www.wrytestuff.com, knitting is the art of knotting.  Research shows that knitting may have been developed in the Middle East, moved to the Mediterranean and from there to Europe.  Hand knitting for profit was replaced by machine knitting (made the clothes and items more affordable) in the late 18th century during the Industrial Revolution.  Knitted clothes lost their luster between the late 1970's and 1980's, probably thought of as too crafty.  Well, the clothes you see here made between 2009 - 2011 do not look crafty at all!
